An EV charging cable carry strap secures the cable into a manageable coil and gives you a dedicated handle to carry it with.

This becomes particularly useful with longer charging cables and heavier three-phase 22kW cables, which can be awkward to carry as a loose coil.

Simply coil the cable without twisting it, wrap the strap around the coil and secure the hook-and-loop fastening. The integrated soft-grip TPE handle then allows you to lift and carry the complete cable rather than trying to hold several loose loops at once.

This strap is suitable for the full range of cables we sell, including single-phase cables up to 20m and three-phase cables up to 15m.

They solve slightly different problems - and they can also be used together.

An EV cable carry strap holds the cable in a neat coil and provides a comfortable handle for carrying or hanging it. It's ideal when you regularly move the cable between the car, charger and storage area.

An EV cable storage bag encloses the entire cable, helping contain dirt and moisture and keeping it separate from other items in your boot.

For maximum convenience, secure the coiled cable with the carry strap first and then place it inside a suitable EV cable storage bag. The strap keeps the coil together when you take it back out.

Coil the charging cable into loose, natural loops without twisting it or forcing it into tight bends.

Once coiled, wrap the carry strap around the cable and secure the hook-and-loop fastening firmly enough to hold the loops together, but don't overtighten it or compress the cable unnecessarily.

Avoid sharp bends close to the charging connectors and don't use the strap to pull or drag the cable.

Correct coiling makes the cable easier to carry and store, while reducing tangles and unnecessary stress on the cable and connectors.

Yes - but hanging storage should be in a dry indoor location, such as a garage or storage room.

The integrated handle allows the coiled cable to be hung from a secure wall hook, bracket or storage peg, keeping the cable neatly organised and off the floor while remaining easy to remove and carry.

We do not recommend hanging a charging cable outdoors with the charging plug left dangling. In that position, rainwater can run down the cable towards the rear/base of the charging connector, increasing the risk of water ingress over time.

For outdoor storage, the charging connector should instead be properly docked in a suitable Type 1 or Type 2 plug holder, with the cable supported and stored so that water cannot track towards the connector.

If using the carry strap to hang the complete cable, keep it indoors and dry, and make sure the hook or mounting point can safely support the cable's weight - particularly with longer, heavier three-phase 22kW cables.
