How to Set the Charging Current and Delay Timer

Set the Charging Current:
Touch and hold the current sensor indicator for 3 seconds until the current value flashes. Tap to cycle through the available current levels. Once your desired current is displayed, wait 3 seconds for the setting to lock in.

Set a Delay Timer (Optional):
To delay the start of charging, tap the delay button. Each tap adds 1 hour to the delay time. When you've set the desired delay, wait 3 seconds for the setting to confirm.

⚠️ If no delay is selected, charging will begin automatically once the current level is locked in.

The selected settings will remain active for the duration of the charging session and will continue until the vehicle is fully charged or the session is manually stopped. To begin a new session, repeat the steps above.

A Type 2 to CEE portable EV charger lets you charge from a 32A single-phase CEE/Commando socket (common in garages, workshops, caravans, marinas and some commercial sites). This model delivers adjustable 10–32A charging, providing up to 7.2kW where the socket and supply support it — a big step up from a standard UK 3-pin charger and ideal for faster home or on-the-go AC charging.

Yes — it’s designed for real-world outdoor charging. The control unit is fully sealed to IP67, and the charger-side connections are IP65 when in use, with built-in protection against overheating, overcurrent, voltage issues, leakage, and CP faults.

As with all 32A CEE (Commando) sockets, the power outlet itself must be protected from direct rain. The CEE socket should be installed in a weatherproof enclosure or positioned under suitable cover, with the connection kept off the ground. Once properly connected and sheltered at the socket end, the charger is perfectly suited to everyday outdoor use in typical UK conditions.

This is standard practice for all high-current CEE equipment and not specific to this charger.

You can do both — and switching is simple.

• Manual mode: set current (6–10A) and use the built-in delay timer up to 12 hours from the touch panel.

• App mode: once you set a schedule in EVbee Home, the charger follows the app plan (start time + duration).

• Back to manual anytime: choose “Instant Charging” in the app to return to normal touch-control operation.

So whether you want full smart scheduling or simple plug-and-charge, it adapts to your routine.

No — and that’s by design. 32A and 16A CEE sockets are physically different, and they are not interchangeable.

A 32A CEE plug uses thicker pins and a larger connector body than a 16A version. This ensures it can safely carry higher current without overheating. A 32A plug will not fit into a 16A socket, which prevents unsafe connections and protects both the charger and the power supply.

If you have a 16A CEE socket, you’ll need a charger specifically designed for 16A CEE use. Using the correct plug type is essential for safety, compliance, and reliable charging performance.

This is a standard CEE safety design and applies to all manufacturers, not just this charger.
